Welcome to Today in Parenthood!
We started Today In Parenthood to document our parenting journey. The thoughts, feelings (and knowledge) we accumulate as we “become” parents. We also started it because the existing “mommy blogs” didn’t quite resonate with our family dynamics or our realist approach to parenting. Basically, we didn’t feel like we had anything in common with “mommy bloggers.”
While we are documenting our experience as a heterosexual working couple with two biological children, we hope to make the information here accessible to all kinds of families and family members; single parents (moms AND dads), stay-at-home parents (moms AND dads), same-sex parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and even to the child-free adults who provide care, guidance, and support to friends or family members with children.
We believe family is our foundation, by birth or by choice.
Whether it’s packing a diaper bag, stocking up for a new arrival, or dealing with an existential crisis, we hope you’ll find some useful information as well as a bit of humor, loads of support, and maybe a recommendation or two that helps you as much as it has helped us.
